Before I looked at this part of the course I am doing, I had no idea that Wikis existed apart from Wikipedia. So, I have learnt a lot already but am also becoming more and more aware of how incredible all these new types of communication are.
In our library environment, an intranet using wikis would be great. Staff could provide information for staff in other areas to read that would be an invaluable sharing of knowledge and suggestions, ranging from such things as ideas for children's activities to different methods of storing and shelving items to posting upcoming titles on the bestsellers lists.
